Abilene is a city between western and central Texas, located to the west of the DFW metroplex and to the northwest of Austin and San Antonio. The railroad that Abilene owes much of its development to divides the town into northern and southern portions and Abilene also supports the nearby Dyess Aur Force Base.
Abilene is known for retaining many of its historical buildings, located in the northern part of the city. The city has two nicknames, “The Key City” and “The Friendly Frontier.” Small business owners in Abilene looking for a way to market themselves have come to the right place, as we offer a performance lead generation program.

Population
In 1881, Abilene was established as a railroad shipping town, like many of its fellow cities in central Texas. Due to the people encamped around the city even before its property was sold off, much of Abilene’s land was scooped up quickly, and the town was incorporated in the same year that it was founded.
During the mid-20th century, Abilene was home to several military installations, including the defunct Camp Barkley. After this camp shut down, residents petitioned for a new military base to be opened, and this led to the construction of Dyess Air Force Base.
