Here’s some cool information and fun facts about Dunedin, Florida. Indigenous people were the earliest known people to live in the area prior to Scottish immigrants arriving in the 1800s. J.O.Douglas and James Summerville named the area Dunedin after the Scottish city Edinburgh.
John W. Marston came and started farming citrus fruits, employing new settlers, and as the settlement grew, it became a bustling seaport. The city was incorporated in 1913, and by the 1940s, Dunedin was known for manufacturing the Roebling Alligator amphibian tractor.
