Population
During the late 1800s, the future of Fullerton was seeded when the California Central Railroad was looking for land, and two brothers bought hundreds of acres to sell to them. Early on, Fullerton was known for its orange groves and other agricultural land, though this was soon to change.
Fullerton’s boom came when oil was discovered in the area between 1880 and 1920, though this was no longer profitable by The Great Depression. After World War II, Fullerton gradually became suburbanized to support the larger population brought on by the Baby Boom.
