The city of Hialeah makes up a portion of the Miami-Dade metro area, located to the northwest of downtown Miami and just north of Miami International Airport. Hialeah is largely a residential area, and it has a particularly high proportion of Latino and Hispanic inhabitants, mainly consisting of Cuban immigrants.
One of the notable things about Hialeah is that its street grid doesn’t follow the numbering system established in the rest of Miami.
Hialeah is home to a few different unique sites, including the Curtiss Mansion. This architectural marvel can either be booked for a private tour or even as an event space, and you’ll find it at the southern edge of Hialeah.
Amelia Earhart Park is another nearby attraction, and it is complete with both a petting zoo and pony stables. Hialeah also contains several water parks, including the McDonald Water Park and the Bucky Dent Water Park.
