Population
Here’s some cool information and fun facts about Keizer, Oregon. In the 1840s, settlers reached the area, and 15 years later, there were 18 families owning almost 8,000 acres. The community was named after one of the largest landholders, Thomas Dove Keizur. A school and church soon were built, and people farmed the land. Flooding was a problem in the area, and families had to relocate to higher grounds in 1861. After dams were built in the 1950s, the development grew fast with more schools and more businesses, including berry fields and orchards.
In 1982, the community of Clear Lake joined with Keizer to become the new city of Keizer.
Today, the total population of this small American city is 39,713 people.
