Back in 1850, a group of Mormon pioneers came to the surrounding area of Dry Creek and renamed it Evansville after David Evans, a bishop in the LDS Church. New settlers arrived and received 40-acre plots to develop and by 1852 the settlement was incorporated as Lehi city, named after a prophet in the book of Mormon.
The Pony Express Trail and the Transcontinental Telegraph both passed near Lehi. Lehi Roller Mill and Elevator company opened up in the early 1900s to serve local farmers around Lehi and started making flour in 1906.
