Located far up in the deserts of northwestern Texas, Lubbock is located at the end of Interstate 27, to the south of Amarillo. This relatively flat town is mainly known for one of its famous citizens, one of the first true rock ‘n roll stars, Buddy Holly.
With a name like that attached to the town, you can be sure that many of the attractions in Lubbock are based on Buddy Holly. The most notable one is the Buddy Holly Center, which is the number-one collection of Buddy Holly memorabilia in the world, including his instruments, photos, and much more.
The West Texas Walk of Fame is also present in Lubbock, and that, too, honors Buddy Holly. In this attraction’s case, he is remembered with a statue.
There are also several museums in Lubbock, including the American Windmill Museum (which contains exactly what you’d expect) and the Museum of Texas Tech University.
