Perris is a town located to the west of the Los Angeles metroplex in Riverside County. More precisely, Perris can be found just south of Moreno Valley and just north of Menifee. While much of Perris is surrounded by desert, Lake Perris is located northeast of the town, and it features the verdant Upland Game Hunting Area.
The nearby Perris Reservoir is a manmade lake that allows residents to go fishing, joining the Lake Perris State Recreation Area. The region also has plenty of museums including the Motte Historical Car Museum, the Southern California Railway Museum, and the March Field Air Museum.

Before being settled in the late 1800s, the land that is now Perris was mainly used as pastures. In 1911, Perris was finally incorporated, and like many cities in California, it owed much of its early growth to the California Southern Railroad.
