Saint Paul, Minnesota, makes up one of the Twin Cities, along with its sibling, Minneapolis. Despite being a little smaller than its twin, St. Paul is the older of the Twin Cities, and it has plenty of attractions that draw in travelers from across the United States.
Perhaps one of the most impressive attractions is the cathedral that share’s the city’s name. The Cathedral of Saint Paul is one of the better-known cathedrals in the US, featuring a copper dome and marble statues of the four evangelists.
St. Paul is also home to the Minnesota State Capitol, which is an architectural marvel in its own right. Monumental paintings of Civil War battles adorn the interior halls of the capitol, and they lend the interior much of the same grandeur as the city’s exterior.
Finally, St. Paul also features the Science Museum of Minnesota, whose main attractions include dinosaur skeletons and space exhibits.

Population
The first people to inhabit the region of St. Paul were tribes of Hopewell Native Americans about 2000 years ago. For a long time, the region was uninhabited until displaced tribes of Sioux Native Americans started living in the area.
Eventually, the US Army negotiated with the native tribes for the land and established Fort Snelling. Over time, many French-Canadian traders established themselves in the area, which led to the creation of a small chapel known as Saint Paul’s chapel. This congregation was Catholic, much like the French-Canadian traders who frequented the trading post.
