Population
Founded in 1870 as a Presbyterian colony, Westminster took nearly one hundred years to be incorporated in the 1950s. When the city was first incorporated, it was originally going to be named Tri-City because it was made up of three previous cities: Westminster, Midway City, and Barber City.
When Midway City refused incorporation, the city of Westminster was eventually made up of the union of Westminster and Barber City.
